Who we are?
We are a therapeutic riding centre based in the heart of Lancashire; we specialise in providing equine learning through both groundwork and ridden activities.
We offer Equine-Assisted Therapy sessions for individuals with autism and additional needs. Working with horses can improve social, cognitive, and physical skills, as well as being an enjoyable activity for all ages. In addition working with our equines promotes self confidence and a healthy mental attitude. Established in 2016, Holts Equestrian centre is one of the only 5* Centres licensed by Bury Council.

Marnie Holt BSc sports science and coaching, Marnie has been involved in horses all her life competing successfully at county level, with many championship wins. Marnie competes British Dressage with her own horses, with many qualifications for championships and many top 10 placings at the championships. Marnie currently holds BHS stage 2.
Marnie has combined her passion for horses and coaching and built a successful equestrian centre. We set up in 2016 as a therapeutic riding centre, pre covid we helped many individuals through the power of horses. The progress that they made was unbelievable.
Marnie has coached individuals with autism and similar disabilities for over 10 years and loves to see the benefits that individuals get from the horse. She has also worked alongside a psychotherapy business who offer Equine assisted therapy working as the equine handler.

Adrian Ainsworth
Adrian is a retired primary school teacher, having spent her final 10 years working in a special education establishment. Her specialist area is autistic spectrum disorders.
Adrian’s main teaching qualifications include B. Ed (honours)
Post Grad Diploma in S.E.N
M.Ed. (S.E.N)
Adrian also has: -
- PECS (Picture exchange communication system)
- Sign along – signing system
- Counselling
- NLP – (Neuro linguistic programming)
Adrian is a Professional Accredited Coach with the British Horse Society
More recently Adrian has been coaching children with a wide range of disabilities.
Cost
All our sessions will be tailored to the individual we can provide numerous activities which include, ground work, grooming, learning how to look after the ponies, natural horsemanship, in addition to this we can also offer ridden sessions both in the arena and out hacking. Sessions start at £20 for 30 minutes session for a off the horse session.
