Meet the InstructorMarnie Holt is the main instructor at Holts equestrian centre. Marnie has been extremely successful in the show ring qualifying for numerous championships including the royal international horse show and most recently the horse of the year show. Marnie started teaching from a young age, she used to teach the liveries on the yard including the adults; Marnie spent many hours watching her mum coach and found it very interesting, and this is where the passion and enthusiasm has come from.
Marnie studied Sports fitness and coaching at college and then went on to gain a Bachelor of science, studying sports science and coaching, she did this alongside competing her horses. Marnie also has BHS stages 1 and 2. Once she had finished university she went working part time at professional yards to increase her knowledge before returning home and setting up her own business producing ponies for the show ring, to which she has been very successful. |
Marnie has now decided to expand the business by opening up a riding school with a difference, her aim is to provide riding lessons on well-schooled ponies. With the use of modern styles of teaching such as video analysis and old style methods such as lunge lessons, Equi cube, and resistance band training to help improve balance.
Marnie also hopes to help those with autism and participants with similar disabilities, having already seen the enormous benefits that horse riding can have to the participant’s. Horse riding has been proven to help in numerous ways but the main benefit is the amount of enjoyment that is gained from the partnership of horse and rider. |
